Michael Hickerson

Michael Hickerson is a career professional in crime prevention, having spent nearly two decades working in security and law enforcement. During his 12-year career as a Texas Peace Officer he attended over 10,000 hours of training, earned a Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, specializing in Law Enforcement, Policing and Crime Prevention.

Prior to working for DSG Security, LLC, he worked for several law enforcement agencies, notably Bexar County Sheriff's Office, and as a Texas Game Warden assigned to the border region, although he considers his time at Trinity County S.O. and Crockett P.D. to be his most formative experiences. As a LEO, he was assigned to various positions including Criminal Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, SWAT and training. He is an FBI-trained Crisis Negotiator and holds multiple instructor certifications. He is currently a reserve police officer and police training advisor.

He is a devout Christian, family man, and avid outdoorsman. When he's not working, you'll likely find him preparing a bible study lesson, spending time with his family, or planning his next outdoor adventure.
